You can add a recipe by pasting its link or by taking a photo of it. Aioli reads the page or the picture, pulls out the ingredients and steps, and saves the recipe for you.
Add a recipe from a link
- Open the Recipes tab and tap the plus button.
- On the Add Recipes screen, tap Paste URL.
- Paste the link into the box.
- Wait for the green note, such as Recipe website detected. Ready to import. or Social link detected. Ready to import.
- Tap the arrow next to the box. Aioli reads the page, saves the recipe and opens it.
Aioli works with recipe websites and with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube. The Works with list on the screen shows what is available to you.
If you copied a recipe link before opening Aioli, Aioli may offer Recipe link ready to import. Tap Allow Import to bring it in.
Add a recipe from a photo
Use a photo of a recipe card, a cookbook page or a handwritten recipe.
- Open the Recipes tab and tap the plus button.
- Tap Camera.
- Choose Take Photo, or choose Choose from Library to use a photo you already have.
- If Aioli asks for your permission to use AI on the photo, review it and continue. See How to manage AI features and your consent.
- Wait while Aioli reads the recipe from the photo. When it finishes, the recipe opens.
If Aioli cannot find a recipe in the photo, it tells you and saves nothing, so you can try another photo.
If a link does not import
Aioli shows a screen that explains what went wrong and what you can do next. See Why didn’t my recipe import?.
