How to set up your Household and invite people

Create a Household from Profile, then share an invite code so family members can join.

A Household is a group of people who cook and shop together. You create one, then invite others with a code. People join by entering the code.

Create a Household

1. Open Profile and find the Household section.
2. Tap Create a Household.
3. Enter a Household name.
4. Tap Create.

Manual items on your personal shopping list move to your Household shopping list when you create or join one.

Invite people

1. In Profile, under Your Household, tap your Household.
2. Under Invite, tap Generate Invite Code.
3. Send the code from the share sheet that opens.

The code shows with how long it has left. Tap Copy or Share to send it again. The invite message says the code expires in 3 days. When a code has expired, generate a new one. A Household has a limit on members, and Aioli tells you when it is full.

Join a Household

1. Open Profile and find the Household section.
2. Tap Join a Household.
3. Under Enter invite code, type the code.
4. Tap Join.

If Aioli cannot find a Household, check the code. A friend code does not work here. Enter friend codes under Friends instead.

Remove a member or leave

The owner sees a remove button next to each other member. Tap it, then confirm Remove.

To leave, tap Leave in the Household section of Profile and confirm. You lose access to shared recipes. An owner with other members cannot leave until those members are removed. An owner who is the only member sees Delete instead, which deletes the Household.

Cook for people without an account
