How to add friends and share recipes with them

Add a friend with a friend code, then send them recipes or let them browse yours.

Friends lets you connect with people you know on Aioli, send them recipes, and browse each other's recipes. You add a friend with a friend code.

Add a friend

  1. Open Profile and find the Friends section.
  2. Tap Add a friend.
  3. Tap Share to send your friend code, or Copy to copy it.
  4. To use a friend's code, enter it on the same screen.

If you have not linked an email yet, Aioli asks you to Link your email to add friends. If a code cannot be used, Aioli tells you why. Tap New code to get a fresh code.

Important. Links you share can carry your friend code, so anyone who opens one can add you. To stop that, turn off Include my friend code in recipe links in the Friends section.

Send a recipe to a friend

  1. Open the recipe and tap the ⋮ menu.
  2. Choose Send to a friend.
  3. Tick one or more friends and add a note if you like.
  4. Tap Send.

If a send fails for some friends, Aioli tells you who received it and keeps the others ticked so you can try again. Friends are notified. You control these notifications with Household & friends in your notification settings.

Open a recipe a friend sent you

In Discover, switch to Friends. Recipes friends sent you appear with a New mark until you open them. Open one to see who sent it and their note, then tap Save to My Recipes. After you save it, the button changes to Open your copy.

Choose what friends can see

Turn on Friends can browse my recipes to let friends see your library. They see everything except recipes you hide, and scanned recipes stay hidden until you choose to show them. To hide or show one recipe, use Hide from friends or Show to friends on that recipe.

Remove or report a friend

Open the friend from the Friends section of Profile, then tap Remove or Report.
