How to share a recipe
Tap Share on a recipe you own to send anyone a link, whether or not they have Aioli.
Written for the Aioli iPhone app. Last updated
You can share any recipe you own as a link. Aioli opens your iPhone share sheet, so you can send the link by message, email or any app you use.
Share a recipe
- Open the recipe.
- Tap Share. You can also tap the ⋮ menu and choose Share.
- Wait a moment while Aioli prepares the link. The button reads Preparing share.
- Pick where to send it from the share sheet.
Only the person who owns a recipe sees Share. If a friend sent you a recipe, save it to your own recipes first.
What the other person sees
If they have Aioli, the link opens a preview card that says who shared the recipe, with the recipe photo, title and time. Tap Open recipe to view it.
If they do not have Aioli, the link opens the recipe in their web browser. In the app, they can also tap Open in browser on the preview card.
Friend code in your link
Your link can carry your friend code. When it does, the preview card offers a button that adds you as a friend and opens the recipe, and the recipe menu shows Includes your friend code. Tap Change next to it to choose whether links include your code.
A person who has not linked an email yet sees a prompt to link one before they can add you as a friend. To send a recipe straight to someone you have already added, see How to add friends and share recipes with them.
